"1994 Zaragoza, Spain: 13-year-old Marcos Alegre Vallés had leukemia and needed a blood transfusion. His parents were Jehovah's Witnesses and refused to allow the doctors to give him the necessary treatments. A court order had to be acquired to give the needed blood but by the time it was administered it was too late. He died shortly after it was given. (El Mundo, Sept. 17, 1994)"
