What follows below is the form that the WTS has sent to
congregation secretaries for use by Witnesses who may be faced
with a blood transfusion. It clearly shows how Witnesses may
choose to accept all of the individual ingredients of blood
plasma. Remember, plasma accounts for 55% of blood volume! The
key here is that a Witness may not take all of them mixed
together at the same time. Theoretically a Witness could
receive a blood plasma transfusion in the following manner: One
I.V. with albumin, another with immunoglobulins, another with
fibrinogens and clotting factors and a final one with water or
saline. How can this be considered as "abstaining from blood,"
even by the WTS standards?
